What we do.
- New beds, marked out and planted, with indigenous and water-wise plants chosen for your slope, wind and sun
- Soil preparation: digging over, compost and conditioner worked in before anything is planted
- Mulching beds to hold water through the dry months and keep weeds down
- New lawns, and tired lawns renovated with feeding and conditioning
- Overgrown or neglected gardens cleared and brought back, as a once-off job
- Old features taken out, such as a rotten deck or a bed that no longer works, and the ground made good
- Irrigation laid in with the new planting, so the beds are watered from the day they go in

How a job works.
We walk the garden with you. The first visit is free and there is no obligation. We look at what is there, what is struggling, and what you want the garden to do for you.
We measure it and draw it up. Beds and lawns are measured on a plan of your property, so the quote is sized on your real garden rather than a guess. Where there is more than one sensible way to do an area, you get the options side by side.
You get a fixed written quote, area by area. Each part of the garden is priced on its own, so you can do the whole garden at once or one area at a time. The quote says what the work is, how many days it takes and how many people are on it.
Our own team does the work. The same people who look after gardens across Hout Bay every week, not a crew hired in for the day.

- Large tree felling or rope-access work (done with a certified arborist and quoted separately)

Pricing.
Every landscaping job is priced after we have seen the garden. Two beds of the same size can be very different jobs once you account for the slope, the soil and how far everything has to be carried. The quote comes after a free on-site assessment and is fixed before any work starts.
Frequently asked.
Do I need to be a garden client first?
No. Landscaping is quoted and done as a job on its own. Many clients carry on with fortnightly garden care afterwards, but nobody has to.
Can I do one part of the garden now and the rest later?
Yes. The quote is priced area by area, so you can go ahead with the front beds this season and leave the back lawn for later without asking us to re-quote the whole garden.
When is the best time to plant?
For most Cape gardens, autumn into winter, so new planting can root in on the winter rain before the first dry summer. Lawns and summer beds go in from spring. We will tell you if your job is better held for a few weeks.
Will the price change once you start?
No. The quote is fixed and written before any work starts, and it says how many days the job takes and with how many people. If you ask for something extra on the day, it is quoted separately before we do it.

Once the new garden is in, garden maintenance keeps it the way it was planted. New beds are usually watered by a drip line from our irrigation work, and a productive patch can be set up as a vegetable garden.
